How the guide works
- The postcode is used to calculate the distance from home to the University. This is used in the filters and also in calculating the cost of travel.
- The expected grades are turned into points. These points are then compared with the requirements to get into the course chosen in the filters.
- The filters reduce the available Universities still further by narrowing the selection.
- Finally, when running the search, the final list is then ranked according to a number of factors. There are four main factors and these are divided into separate criteria:
- Financial
- Course Fees
- Living Costs
- Travel Costs
- Quality
- Student Satisfaction
- Research Quality
- Teaching Quality
- Lifestyle
- Nightlife
- Shopping
- Attractions
- Outcomes
- Good Honours
- Completion
- Job Prospects
The student can alter the weighting of the four main factors according to what they value most.
